The twisted cover of Gloria Gaynor's "I Will Survive" is a statement of intent, while the cool jazz riffs from the band's trumpet player are part of what makes tracks like "Daria," "It's Coming Down," and "Frank Sinatra" so original. "The Distance" is a funked-up jam with a Chili Peppers chorus. --Jeff Bateman

A couple of silly "filler songs" such as "race car ya yas"
It's cheesy, jazzy rock music. Again, it's OK but I won't buy another Cake album. You're not really missing anything if you don't buy this except for their song "the distance"
Wouldn't recommend to a friend.

Great service. It only took a few days to ship. I am very satisfied with my purchase.

Cake is a band that I have recently found out about. I heard about them from a friend, and this CD is the first one of theirs that I bought/listened to. It's fantastic! There are many different elements in their music (country, hip-hop, jazz, rockabilly, etc) and it makes them a very unique band. They are now my favorite band, I own all of their CDs, and I would recommend this music to anybody - mainly because it appeals to so many different palates. :)

Solid album. Its got some great songs on it, in fact is pretty much all great songs. For a Cake fan this is a must own. For someone who is not a Cake fan, well, buy it anyway, this will make you one.

Cake struck a moist harmony between their gritty jams, catchy instincts, and sardonic wit with this attuned sophomore outshining anything assimilated afterward.
